LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 13, 2022) – Kennedy Wilson Property Services today announced the acquisition of Alhouse Deaton Management and Leasing, Inc., a Bay Area property management and brokerage services company founded in 1960 with approximately 1.6 million square feet of office and R&D assets under management. This is the first acquisition for Kennedy Wilson Property Services in the region, which currently has offices in Sacramento and Concord.
“Expanding our Bay Area presence is an important part of our overall growth strategy,” said Ed Sachse, President, Kennedy Wilson Property Services. “Acquiring a respected brand such as Alhouse Deaton allows us to capitalize on the reputation and deep experience of their talented team, while providing their clients with a next-level services platform.”
The acquisition of Alhouse Deaton adds offices in Downtown San Francisco and Palo Alto to Kennedy Wilson Property Services’ roster. The four combined Northern California offices will report to Donna Clark, Senior Managing Director for Northern California and Nevada at Kennedy Wilson Property Services.
“We complement and strengthen each other by serving the entire Bay Area, from Concord to San Francisco and Palo Alto to Sacramento,” says Donna Clark. “This coverage will benefit all our clients in the region.”
In 1991, Jeff Deaton acquired a property services company founded in 1960 by Bill Alhouse to become known as Alhouse Deaton. In 2001, industry veteran Marty Smith joined Alhouse Deaton, expanding it from a mid-peninsula firm to a multi-faceted Bay Area property management company. Deaton and Smith will continue to serve clients under Kennedy Wilson Property Services.
“We’ve always taken a professional and very personal approach to serving our clients and Kennedy Wilson Property Services does the same,” says Jeff Deaton. “There is great synergy between our companies, and we are excited to continue this tradition under the Kennedy Wilson Property Services banner."
“Kennedy Wilson Property Services is synonymous with quality and integrity, which is why we’re so excited to become a part of their team,” says Marty Smith. “This acquisition will expand our resources and increase our ability to be of service.”
With the acquisition of Alhouse Deaton, Kennedy Wilson Property Services will employ 121 people and operate in twenty-four states across the U.S. with over 16 million square feet of assets under management. Sklar Kirsh acted as legal counsel to Kennedy Wilson Property Services in the transaction.
